Head Tube/Top Tube Mount Construction:
The seat subframe is connected to the frame at the head tube/top tube and the seat post.
The seat subframe consists of 4 parts. These instructions are only for the head tube/top tube mount.
- Composite/3d printed subframe.
- Head tube/Top tube mount. (You are here)
- Seatpost mount.
- Seat Pan and Seat Foam
Warning!
This part is designed for a specific frame, although it may fit other frames. If the head tube fitment is not good modify the 3d model to match your head tube. If the angle between head tube and top tube do not match use boiling water on printed part to allow the part to fit better.

- Before fitting to frame wrap frame in 2mm thick urethane rubber sheet where mount meets the head tube.
- Insert part over head tube and fix in place with 2 high strength cable ties, or hose clamp. Please be careful with hose clamp not to overtighten and dent the top tube. Do not use normal zip ties, see Mcmaster.com part number 7177K62
Notes
- I expected this part to break, but then it lasted a year, and then it lasted longer.
- This part may be stronger if printed in other orientations but I never tried.
- Do not try printing this part in PLA or ABS, must be durable nylon.
