This looks nothing like a standing desk, but place it on another desk and it works perfectly, but so would any end table. As an end table I like it too but my intention wasn’t to build furniture but rather to weld and make a standing desk.
I had some leftover tubes from the Formula Vee project in mixed size 4130 and started tacking things together. During construction things took the form of a simple X brace and never required much more complexity.
After a few days of use it became obvious the legs needed feet to be stable and I had been meaning to dial in some orange urethane so I got busy.
